DESCRIPTION:
This exquisite sheep friendly mat will soon become your favorite home accessory! It has been artistically designed & made with Gypsy's Alpaca wool and Mayday's longwool lamb locks

All of the wool used in the making and designing of this mat was shorn for their pleasure & yours as they are both alive & well, happily roaming the fields on their small family farms.

THE DESIGN:
Because I use fleece instead of processed fibers, the individual character & texture of the sheep's locks are artistically apparent which adds an lovely texture and color nuances. The result is a mat that expresses the natural beauty of the wool.

DECORATING IDEAS:
I've sized this mat for a wide variety of uses as such as:

*Table, kitchen island, desktop
* place across back of arm of your favorite chair or sofa
*add visual interest to bench, stool or ottoman
*layer with any of my other mats for a unique look all your own!

FIELD GRASS ETC:
* Prior to the actual felting process, I spend a great deal of time removing bits of bedding and vegetable matter from each fleece. These are real sheep living their best life out in their fields. Some sheep will have virtually no vegatative matter, while others will be chuck full! Therefore, please expect to find some remaining vegetable matter such as hay, straw, grain, tiny twigs etc. in your felted art piece. These bits shows up more evidently in light & dark colored fleeces. If you are concerned or have special needs, please feel free to send me a message:)

CLEANSING:
* My felted mats are "washed" during the design process and once completed, I hand wash each piece thoroughly using an all natural plant based cleanser which is safe for the environment and restores the natural pH of the wool. They are then set out under the sun to dry.

CARE AND MAINTANENCE:
* Because the structure of wool fiber, it is naturally dirt and stain resistant. It is best to gently shake (outdoors) to remove dust/dirt. If necessary, your felted piece can be hand washed (or spot cleaned) in cold water with a gentle wool cleanser like Unicorn or white vinegar. The excess water can be gently squeezed out or spun in your washing machine on the gentlest cycle, then set flat to air dry. Combing or vacuuming is never recommended.
