Handmade needle felted sheep sculpture created from wool, a charming collectible fiber art piece perfect for farmhouse decor or sheep lovers.
Each spring during lambing season, I create a small number of unique felt art sheep, allowing collectors to start — or grow — their very own flock.
Meet Marlo
Marlo is a beautiful Navajo Churro sheep, lovingly handcrafted using traditional felting techniques. Her head is sculpted from Merino wool, carefully shaped by hand using a tiny barbed felting needle. This slow, detailed process allows the wool fibers to be formed into expressive, lifelike shapes.
A special touch of realism is added with handmade glass sheep eyes, giving Marlo her outgoing personality.
She is artistically and sturdily constructed over a wood base and supported by four wooden legs, making her both decorative and durable.
Add Marlo to your flock and she will feel right at home displayed on a shelf, mantel, table, or anywhere that could use a touch of handcrafted charm.
Each sheep is individually made, making every piece truly one of a kind!
* length: approximately 12"
* width: approximately 6"
* Height: approximately
* Longwool sheep
* Merino/Shetland head & ears
* hand made glass eyes
* this wool is from real sheep living their best lives out in the field... therefore please expect bits of field grasses within the locks...see note below
* you are purchasing sheep shown.
Felting is a labor intensive art with each finished piece involving many hours of work. The end result is undeniably lovely and because of the hand made nature, you can be assured that no two pieces will ever be the same - thus assuring you of original and functional art for your home.
PLEASE NOTE:
* Prior to the actual felting process, I spend a great amount of time removing bits of bedding and vegetable matter from each fleece. You will, however, expect to find some remaining vegetable matter such as hay, straw, etc
*upon completion, I hand wash each felted fleece in an environmentally friendly plant based cleanser that restores the natural pH in the wool. They are then set out in the sun to dry.
