All of the wool used in the making and designing of this mat was shorn for the sheep's pleasure & yours as she is alive & well, happily roaming the fields on her small family farm.
THE PROCESS:
Felting is a labor of love with each piece being designed & artfully crafted entirely by hand. The end result is undeniably lovely and because of the hand made nature, you can be assured that no two pieces will ever be the same. In fact, they will assuredly be "imperfectly perfect" with all of the characteristics of the natural wool emerging in each carefully designed piece. That, to me, is what makes them a beautiful art piece for you to enjoy!
PLEASE NOTE:
The wool & locks I use is purchased directly from & supports small farms & shepherds. You will inevitably find bits of hay or wild vetation occasionally intertwined within the felted layers which adds a unique artistic & organic quality to each hand designed piece.
