Because unlike leatherbacked hides which trap air and cause perspiration, my fleeces breathe, allowing the air to circulate & wicking away moisture which keeps you comfy all year long!

THE PROCESS:
Felting is a labor intensive art with each finished piece involving many hours of work! The end result is undeniably lovely and because of the hand made nature, you can be assured that no two pieces will ever be the same. In fact, sheerings from the same ewe from season to season will change as her fleece will always grow back with subtle differences. That, to me, is what makes each fleece such a beautiful art piece for you to use & enjoy!

PLEASE NOTE:
* Prior to the actual felting process, I spend a great amount of time removing bits of bedding and vegetable matter from each fleece. You will, however, expect to find remaining vegetable matter such as hay, straw, sawdust, etc. which is more evident in light & dark colored fleeces. For fleeces that have a heavy amount of field grass, hay, and other bits, a powerful Hydro bath is administered. Once they are washed, they are then set outside under the sun to dry.
